The Founding Philosophy of the University of Ulsan

“ Thirst for Learning, Learning for Success”

이야기를 나누고 있는 울산대학교 설립자 정주영회장

The University of Ulsan was established in 1970 by the esteemed late Asan Chung Ju-Yung, founder of the world-renowned Hyundai business group. Asan was one of the most prominent entrepreneurs in modern global history, a truly great man with a humble mind, and an educator who wanted to benefit the world with knowledge and education. The University of Ulsan proudly continues in Asan’s innate guiding philosophies of pioneering entrepreneurship, love for mankind, and thirst for learning.

“When I was young, I used to work at a construction site at a university campus. While carrying building materials, I deeply lamented that I could not complete my own education. From that time, my thirst for learning motivated me to establish a university, to provide future students with greater opportunities and to help them achieve their dreams. How wonderful it is to be young! Work hard and advance in your studies, building your dreams upon this foundation at the University of Ulsan.”

(Chung Ju-Yung, Founder of the University of Ulsan)
