The University of Ulsan initially started as the Ulsan Institute of Technology in 1970. Its major role was providing professional engineers to the nearby Ulsan Industrial Complex. The University of Ulsan subsequently expanded into other academic fields, but the School of Engineering strongly represents the unique spirit that the University of Ulsan aspires to maintain, that is, ‘to bring knowledge to the benefit of the world.’
The University of Ulsan’s School of Engineering is generally recognized among the top engineering schools in Korea, holding excellence in education and research based on its practical philosophy of academic pursuit. Mechanical Engineering, Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electric Engineering, and IT Convergence Engineering are among the most prominent engineering majors at the University of Ulsan.
